237km from Khajuraho by motorable road, in the heart of the Vindhya Mountains, a forest shelters pre-historic caves having cryptic inscriptions, the huge 14th century Bandhavgarh Fort, and the rare White Tiger species. Indeed, it is the Bandhavgarh National Park, well worth a visit.
